From the reviews
Barbara is very attentive to her patients and their comfort. Highly recommended
I have been a patient of Barbara Paul-Mayer since 1997. She has treated me for neck and back pain, intestinal issues (adhesions, digestive), and stress for many years. Barbara is highly skilled and creates a relaxing atmosphere during her sessions, I usually fall asleep. She is wonderful!
I went to Barbara years ago. I was on so many medications with organ levels all over the place. I started acupuncture and was able to get off all medications. I went to my primary physician for a 6 month follow up and all my levels were normal, I had lost weight, I was sleeping, had a ton of energy and quit smoking.
Barbara's treatments always make me feel better. I highly recommend her.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
