From the reviews

I went to Dr. Derek 7 months ago and have experienced amazing results. Initially, I needed relief from hand pain/arthritis and sleep issues. After a couple visits my hand pain was gone. In the following months it has only flared up a couple of times which was fixed with one session.

★★★★★ — Kathy, Mar 2025

Dr. Derek is truly exceptional! From the moment I walked into his practice, I felt at ease. His professionalism, deep knowledge of acupuncture, and compassionate demeanor immediately stood out. He took the time to listen to my concerns and tailored each session to address my specific needs.

★★★★★ — Angel, Dec 2024

I love going to see Dr. Derek! I wasn't so sure about acupuncture because of the needles, but he does such a great job! He's very thorough, listens to your needs, and really gets to the bottom of what's causing you issues.

★★★★★ — Joey, May 2024

When I started seeing Dr Derek I was experiencing some life changes. Broke off a relationship with fiancé and also having traumatic situation at work that had caused me to leave and transition to a new job. Life was dim, mind was cluttered and confidence was low.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
