From the reviews

Riann is always incredibly helpful. She offers many different appointment types including many variations of alternative medicine. I have experience using cupping and reflexology for plantar fasciitis. I could not recommend her enough for both options.

ATTENTION PREGNANT MAMAS: I went to Balanced Tree Reflexology after meeting Riann at an event when I was about 26 weeks pregnant. I was preparing for a VBAC and wanted every tool in my arsenal for avoiding medical induction and going into labor as naturally as possible.

I didn’t know much about reflexology prior to having a session at Balanced Tree. But having had sessions now, I am a full believer. I’ve had back pain in the past and usually have tried rest, medicine, event chiropractic work. But it never quite was right.

★★★★★ — Lesley, Nov 2018

Riann at Balanced Tree Reflexology is an amazing healer. She truly listens, provides thoughtful insight and feedback, and is incredibly caring. Every session, she somehow always finds the exact areas in my body that are giving me trouble and helps ease them.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
