From the reviews
I saw Renee about 5 months after my first c-section. I was almost always in pain & many women I know recommended her for pelvic floor PT. I had constant scar pain, back pain, and other postpartum issues. After a few months of weekly sessions with Renee, I no longer have any pain!
I had been struggling with pregnancy and postpartum back pain for almost a year before seeing Dr. Renee, and she has truly been a godsend. She is incredibly patient, kind, and knowledgeable. She explains everything clearly and guided me through stretches and exercises tailored to my condition.
If you care or are concerned about your pelvic floor health then you need to visit Renee at Back to Health. She created a program that facilitated my recovery after surgery. She provided education so that I would be informed about my own body.
This is my second time returning to Back to Health PT, with a span of about 3 years in between for different issues. Renee helped me the first time, so I trusted her again for some new issues I was having. I visited her Palos Heights location.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
