From the reviews

Greg made me a believer in Physical Therapy. I've had many injuries where I was prescribed PT and in each of my first few PT appointments I was given a sheet of paper with some exercises on it and pointed to a corner of the office where I could work on the exercises.

★★★★★ — David, Apr 2025

I can't recommend Dr. Greg Lowe at Awaken Performance Rehab enough! After improperly healing a right hamstring pull that still bothers me to this day, I knew I needed expert help when I injured my left one. Greg's thorough examination and clear plan gave me confidence from the start.

★★★★★ — Tommy, Jun 2024

If you're looking for a physical therapist to design a program to relieve your pain and get you back to doing what you love, Dr. Gregory Lowe at AWAKEN Performance Rehab should be your go-to expert.

★★★★★ — Kara, Jun 2024

Greg is the guy to see in WNY if you have some running issues with the body. Other than his knowledge and expertise, his clinic is unique in that you're 1:1 with him the entire time. He knows runners and how to treat then specifically.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
