I can’t say enough about how great my experience was at Romeoville Athletico! I had a foot fracture that was so bad that at one point I feared I would never walk normal again. Not only did they get me walking normally, I’m thinking of taking up running!!
Throughout my life I have been to multiply physical therapy places. I’ve had my neck. Shoulder.hand, back.knees etc. I have never experienced the level of therapy from ATHLETICO in Romeoville that I received.
Highly Recommend this facility! Chris is an amazing Physical therapist. He cares about his patients and always is keeping up with their progress. He encourages you to try different exercises and makes it fun at the same time. The Assistants are also amazing! They get to know you and are super friendly.
I have always had a great experience at this Athletico. Chris is always professional and helps to push me to get better. I always leave feeling better than when I come in. His assistant Edrik has been very helpful in guiding me to work through my exercises. They make a great team.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
