From the reviews
If you are on a journey of alignment and nervous system regulation, craniosacral therapy is amazing. So thankful to have found Shay at Athens Craniosacral!
I’ve tried many things for jaw pain and tension and CST sessions with Shay have been by far the most productive. I’d be hard pressed to explain the details of craniosacral therapy, but what I can say for sure is that I feel more comfortable in my body and at ease after every session.
Shae is incredibly skilled and compassionate in her care and treatments. She has a comforting touch, gentle presence and grounded energy that make surrendering into healing with her very easy to do. I would highly recommend anyone looking for craniosacral care to give her a call and get on her schedule.
I've found long lasting results with her craniosacral bodywork techniques. My lower back and hip joint remain much more loose for much longer than I've had with previous massage work. Also I'm just super relaxed afterwards! Highly recommend.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
