From the reviews
I have always heard great things about acupuncture, but it wasn't until I stumbled upon Sophia's Instagram profile and website that I decided to book a session. I wanted help managing general stress from work, my sprained ankle, and getting my hormones back on track (which she specializes in!!).
I can't say enough good things about Sophia and the care she provides! After feeling like a big question mark in Western medicine, I am so grateful for the quality of life and the resolving of symptoms that I have experienced thanks to her.
Sophia is beyond healing in her practice. As a small business owner, I carry a lot of stress and anxiety trying to accomplish a million things a day. In her studio I was able to let go of all of that and feel completely relaxed while she treated me with cupping and acupuncture.
Sophia does an amazing consultation with great detail into what I want out of my appointments. I love that I can switch up what we are focused on to help relief physical pain and mental relaxation. Cupping feels absolutely amazing with great results! Self care is the best care!
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
