From the reviews
Chris cares!!! Chris took the time to get to know me and a bit of my background on my first visit. At every appointment thereafter he has taken time to see what is new in my life and how my body is feeling. He takes that information and chooses what will be the best treatment for that session.
I cannot recommend Chris at Anvil Bodyworks highly enough. Every massage session with him is completely unique and tailored to what your body actually needs in that moment.
I've been a regular client for a while now, Chris ability to focus on customized care is what keeps me coming back. He's an expert at his massage techniques, zeroing in on areas of chronic muscle pain and tension and providing lasting relief.
Chris provides a truly personalized experience, tailoring each session to meet the unique needs of the individual. His work is an art form—far beyond a standard massage. Chris genuinely cares about his clients’ well-being, and it shows in every aspect of his practice. This isn’t just a job for him—it’s his passion.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
