I regularly see Sophia. I run, I sit in an office all day, I lift weights every morning - and I am very sore more often than not. I was also trained as a massage therapist many years ago. I don’t practice anymore but I am very picky about who I allow to work on me. Sophia always knows what to work on.
Ask for LUCY (the other ladies may also be as good but Lucy is great) I've been to this establishment 3-4 times since the winter of '24. Every time the people have been kind, courteous and welcoming. The place is clean with either no smell or a fresh scent. Lights can be dimmed and the music is tranquil.
If I could give more stars I would. My masseuse was Sophia and I did a deep tissue massage. It was wonderful! She genuinely got so many knots out of my back and if you enjoy the DEEP pressure go here!! Will definitely be coming back! The prices are super reasonable as well!
I had a great experience at Annie’s Massage Spa on 7th Street and wanted to specifically recommend Mae . I hadn’t seen her in a while, but I was glad to get back on her table—she does excellent work. Mae may not say much during the session, but she clearly knows what she’s doing.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
