I had one of the best massages of my life with Emmi at Aligned Energy! From the moment I walked in, her energy was so calming and welcoming. It was my first time trying cupping, and I honestly didn’t know what to expect—but Emmi explained everything with such care and made me feel completely comfortable.
I can’t recommend Aligned Energy Massage (Emmi) enough! My husband walked in feeling tight, stiff, and uncomfortable, and walked out feeling noticeably better. The difference was so visible that he was actually sitting taller afterward, his posture looked straighter and more relaxed.
The sports massage was top notch. I was introduced to techniques that were selected for my body's specific needs, and that would help me as a runner and triathlete. Emmi is deeply versed in the science, research, and craft of total body care and maintenance. She even gives you a little homework to do in between visits.
Received a Swedish massage from emmi who was phenomenal. I appreciated her knowledge of the body and muscles and her recommendations regarding next steps for a sports massage. I will definitely be back! What a gem in Deptford, nj.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
