I came to affinity acupuncture to help with fertility. I have been struggling to get pregnant for three years and have had countless rounds of IUIs Fail. I have gone to other acupuncture locations that supposedly specialize in fertility, but they did not help.
I am so happy I chose to go to Affinity Acupuncture in Lake Forest, CA. Dr. Jimin Hwang is very friendly, personable and professional. He explained the treatment to me and made me feel at ease. I was nervous about getting acupuncture and the needles, but Dr. Jimin took his time and made sure I was comfortable.
I am so glad to have found Affinity Acupuncture, and Dr. Eric. He has made a huge difference in my ability to get through a day nearly pain-free. Eric listens carefully and seems to know where the needle placement will help me the most. The office is clean and uncluttered. Individual treatment rooms are the same.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
