From the reviews

Greg has been a game changer for the past 20 years!!! The best in terms of giving results that last for more than just a day or two. See him as needed now!

★★★★★ — Chris, Jan 2026

Came in and he fixed my teenage daughter up just in time for a track meet. She has gone to other chiropractors, and insists on this one over the others for future treatments. He explained everything he was doing and explained his care plan, both WHY and HOW!

★★★★★ — Danielle, Apr 2026

I've been under the care of Dr. Shirk for quite a lot of years now. Hes kind and very attentive to my issues, targeting the right spots. I always walk out feeling 100% better! I'll be sad whenever he retires.

★★★★★ — Sarah, Jan 2026

Dr. Shirk is always very professional and friendly. We have been going to him since he came to Mason City. Dr. Shirk listens and cares about his patients. We would and have recommended him to other people.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
