What clients say about the cupping here
“I couldn't wait to see her again to resume our professional relationship and benefit from her knowledge and care.”
From the reviews
I have known and been treated by Shelley for many years. I was delighted when she returned to this area after several years continuing her study and living in China. I couldn't wait to see her again to resume our professional relationship and benefit from her knowledge and care.
Shelley has been treating my whole family for years. I started seeing her when I started having menopausal issues and she helped ease the hot flashes and night sweats. She has helped my kids heal faster from sports injuries. She is so knowledgeable and compassionate.
Shelley's acupuncture treatments gave me very significant relief from low back pain after surgery, epidurals and physical therapy failed to reduce the pain. I highly recommend her as a competent, compassionate acupuncturist.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
