From the reviews
This is my second visit at the Troy location and my first visit was at the Berkeley location. All three time my experiences have been amazing, and I loved that the first time they’d explain step my step what they were doing. Very knowledgeable For context, i had a massage and acupuncture to help with fertility.
I came in with sciatica with knee and thigh spasms and numbness. Conventional doctors gave me pills to manage the symptoms. I didn’t want to take them. I came here for something more hands on and more natural. Dr.
I regret not seeing Dr. Xu much sooner for treating my neck, arms, and feet numbness and balance issue. The very first treatment, I''ve already felt a relief already! I didn't know anything about Chinese medicine until now.
If you have back or shoulder pain, you need to come here! I've been dealing with nagging pain in my lower back, upper back, and shoulders for a while. After a one-hour deep tissue massage at the Acupuncture Institute of Michigan, I felt immediate and significant relief.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
