From the reviews
From the moment you walk in the door, you are greeted with a calming presence. At my first appointment, Nicole asked questions not only about the pain that prompted my first visit, but about my entire body including hormones, digestion and overall health.
Wow! Along with being a miracle worker, Nicole is knowledgeable, professional and courteous as well as genuinely concerned for your health and well-being. My husband and I see Nicole on a regular basis and have for years.
I cannot believe the difference acupuncture has made for my well being. Nicole is a wealth of information and truly cares about her patients. She has not only resolved my pain issue so I do not have to take meds but has provided so many resources for staying healthy. I would give 6 stars!!
I was referred to Beth Kohn-Converse at Acupuncture Health Center of Michigan by a mutual healthcare colleague who said she might be able to help me with my recent health issue. I have had acupuncture on several other occasions, but never like this.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
