From the reviews

Talia spent a lot of time with me in order to provide a fuller response for the treatment of my “tennis elbow” and upper arm injury. Her feedback, regarding nutrition as well as treatment options (ie: cupping, dry needling, etc) was very effective and, after a few hour-long sessions, there was real improvement.

★★★★☆ — Sandi, Jan 2022

Love the treatment there, a go to reliable business for cupping/acupuncture for me. Just what I need once a week.

★★★★★ — April, Feb 2022

Talah takes the time to understand her clients' needs and tailors each treatment accordingly. Her compassionate approach and attention to detail ensure that every session is both effective and comfortable.

★★★★★ — Iraida, Apr 2024

Talah is extremely professional and provides a very personal individual experience based on your personal therapeutic needs unlike other offices that treat their patients like an assembly line. I highly recommend Essex Acupuncture to any looking for physical or noninvasive therapeutic needs.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
