From the reviews

My family and I have been a client of Polina and Acu Boston in Brookline for years. But this is their new Dedham location! I have to say, the room has a airy, sun lit feeling, even though it is calm and relaxing!

I’ve been dealing with chronic pain for a while now and although I’m not completely healed yet, my experience with Kerri and the AcuBoston team has been amazing. I feel like I’m slowly getting back to my regular self and it’s only been possible with the support and care from them.

★★★★★ — Michael, Apr 2025

I was surprised and pleased to find an acupuncture service so close to home. AcuBoston is a traditional Chinese and Herbal medicine practice with optional community treatment that exudes serenity with a clean and modern atmosphere.

★★★★★ — Muth, Apr 2024

I was referred to Polina through a colleague of mine after struggling with “unexplained infertility” for 4 years. I worked with 3 different fertility specialists during this time and was at the end of my rope. I didn’t realize this leap of faith with holistic medicine would be the answer to my prayers.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
