From the reviews

Dr. Serena Lin Helped When Nothing Else Would I booked my appointment with Dr. Serena Lin for preventative care, but by the time I saw her, I'd developed excruciating pain around my left shoulder blade. It was so bad I had to stand while working because sitting hurt too much. Driving was miserable.

★★★★★ — Lynda, Feb 2026

Dr. Serena Shen-Lin is amazing. She is very professional, knowledgeable, and truly cares about her patients. From the first visit, she took the time to listen and understand what I was dealing with. The treatment was effective and I felt real improvement after just a few sessions.

★★★★★ — Nelson, Apr 2026

I’ve been seeing Dr Serena for almost three months for my general balance, arthritis, and allergies. I began feeling relief in my joints within 2-3 treatments, and am seeing improvements in my general health. I am now able to return to the activities I love, namely yoga and hiking.

★★★★★ — Sarah, Apr 2026

I've been a long-term client at Chez Gabrielle in San Bruno and was exited when Dr. Serena of Acu4us began practicing acupuncture with them. I experienced relief after the first session for troublesome digestive issues and am continuing to see a variety of health benefits from regular sessions. Dr.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
