From the reviews

My experience with John was at Anahata’s Purpose in 2025. I thought I was signing up for a massage. And, although I did receive a massage, I also received the most care-filled, intuitive experience that helped me spiritually.

★★★★★ — Paige, Jan 2026

John is a very gifted and caring practitioner! He did a combination of massage therapy and shamanic healing which I found very calming, relaxing, and ultimately uplifting. Every healing session is different even by the same practitioner.

★★★★★ — Lucinda, Jan 2026

John is truly incredible at what he does. I had a deeply transformative experience with him while he was offering massage at Anahata’s Purpose. I came in feeling very emotional, and John took the time to hold space for me while working through the tension I was carrying.

★★★★★ — Theresa, Jan 2026

John has an intuitive way of connecting with his clients. Very easy to communicate with as well as being able to guide tension out of the bodies (physical, emotional and spiritual).

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
