From the reviews
I'm very active and a weight lifter. I can be hard on my body at times but Emily keeps me tuned up! I love how each visit she listens to my current needs or concerns and adjusts her massage to help me heal. She is so knowledgeable! I walk in to her office feeling like The Tin Man and leave feeling SO much better.
My wife was 6 mo. pregnant and experiencing bad sciatic pain down her entire right leg. The pain had been going on for months and it seemed like there wasn't any kind of immediate solution. I found out that Emily at Your Wellness Matters Massage Therapy offered prenatal massage and also had gift cards available.
I've been going to Emily for prenatal massage and she is incredible! I had been having daily sciatic pain that made it hard to walk and in one session my pain was gone. I've been going for a few months and getting massages from Emily has been extremely beneficial for reducing anxiety and helping me feel less pain.
I highly recommend Emily as a massage therapist for anyone that that trains or plays sports. As someone who trains regularly, I’ve had my fair share of tight muscles and post-workout soreness, and this was by far one of the most effective massages I’ve ever had.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
