From the reviews

I loved this school. They keep the class sizes small so there are lots of great opportunities for one on one with questions. As a current MT and past student I would say this school set me up for success with all the knowledge to pass required exams for licensure. Also the teachers are super friendly and knowledgeable!

I’ve been a client of the school since the school first started. many years ago. I don’t think I could even count the number of massages I’ve had over the years. The quality of the students the school puts out is amazing.

As a licensed Massage Therapist I am required to take continuing education credits. The first place I always check is WSMT. The instructors are top notch when it comes to teaching new modalities. The information and techniques that I have learned I have been able to confidently take in to my practice the next day.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
