A week after having surgery I felt like I had been in an MMA fight... and lost. Every movement I made was just uncomfortable, I didn't want to keep popping pain meds, and I had to do something. Today, I met with Janae for a full body massage to help with muscle soreness and tension due to weekly exercise routines and remote work that has me sitting most of the day. When I arrived the first thing I noticed was the amazing studio that had a calming and inviting atmosphere!
Janae is amazing! I stand a lot for work, and often get a lot of pain in my upper back and neck area. One visit from Wellness studio and I feel like a new woman! Janae worked out all my tense and irritated areas, while using amazing cooling and heating oils that adds to the massage experience!
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
