Absolutely recommend Warwick Therapeutic Massage. Cindy was excellent at explaining what the process was (myofascial meant little to me) and how her method helped find and relieve tension points. After a 75 minute myofascial cupping w/massage my muscles and other tension points were vastly improved.
I've been seeing Cindy at Warwick Therapeutic Massage for about 9 months now. I relocated to RI from out of state and needed a new massage therapist. Her space is very comfortable, she is very friendly and engaging, and she offers a variety of services.
To put it simply, you won't find a better massage therapist. My wife and I stumbled on Cindy by accident looking for a massage therapist in the Warwick area and boy did we find a diamond in the rough with her.
There are truly not enough words to describe how incredible Cindy is. I found her during my first pregnancy when I was struggling with major back pain and have been coming back ever since as often as I can. She understands the body so well and can immediately target the areas causing my discomfort.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
