From the reviews

I have been experiencing severe pain in my lower back and going down my leg (sciatica pain). It has been painful to sit, walk, sleep or stand. I visited a physical therapist twice with no change. I made an appointment with Dr. K. After 2 visits I am able to sleep at night and function at work and home.

I can’t begin to tell you about my continued satisfaction or how happy I am with the treatment my family and I receive at Vitality Health. Not only do I receive treatment there but so does my wife, daughters, and son in law. I can’t forget to mention many friends and people I’ve worked with.

I was referred to Dr. K by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, and I am profoundly grateful for this recommendation. Dr. K's kindness and helpfulness were immediately evident during my first visit.

I came in early (because that's me) expecting to get paperwork done and wait a bit but I was lucky and was able to see the doctor almost right away. Dr. Kapoor is amazing. He's friendly and explained what he was doing and gave me time to ask questions. I feel much better after being adjusted.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
