FIVE STARS! Danielle Murphy at Vibrant Health at 134 Main Street in Montpelier I have never had acupuncture before but it was recommended to me as a way to deal with physical pain I was dealing with, which my intuition told me was directly related to emotional and mental turmoil I was experiencing (a winter of anxiety…

I had been a client of Danielle for several years for massage and abdominal massage. She helped me straighten my womb out which had been flipped backwards for decades due to a hard fall as a young adult. Her touch was in tune with my body and supported my health and well being.

★★★★★ — Janice, Mar 2024

Restful, charming atmosphere in both the office and Danielle. She took the time necessary to gather pertinent information and shared what she was doing and why, which I greatly appreciated. Three hours later, the pain and tension in my lower back, legs and ankles are greatly reduced.

★★★★★ — Dona, Feb 2026

Danielle-is great! She takes her time talking to you prior to each visit. Acupuncture has been great for both me and my husband. It has done wonders for lower back pain, knee pain and menopause symptoms for me. Elbow and shoulder issues for my husband!😊

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
