I had fallen and sustained a concussion along with whiplash. It happened on a Sunday evening and by Monday night I had very little ROM and couldn’t sleep because of the pain. I was able to make an appointment on Tuesday with Dane. He did some work on some areas that were very tight along with the acupuncture.
Veteran Sanctuary is my happy place—the place where my body found true healing and my soul simultaneously finds rest and recharge. I saw Takhinsha throughout my pregnancy and postpartum, and she is truly gifted. She works with deep intuition and grounded skill.
I saw Takhinsha for a prenatal/labor prep appointment and it was amazing! She did a combination of massage, cupping, acupuncture and moxibustion to prepare my body for labor and birth. It all felt wonderful, Takhinsha has such a calming spirit, and even the music was perfect.

What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
