The staff at Trinity Acupuncture are so wonderful. The moment I walk into Dr. Kim’s office, I always feel an immediate sense of peace. It probably has to do with the fact that she has helped me with a number of ailments throughout the many years that I have been a patient of hers.
Dr. Christy has been wonderful. I came in for shoulder pain, and I really appreciated that she seemed focused on addressing the root cause, not just the symptoms. I’m someone who hates needles, but hers were surprisingly gentle and not bad at all.
Dr Kim was so knowledgeable and took the time to listen to what has been bothering me and causing me pain. She walked me through my first dry needling experience and checked on me often throughout the visit. She provided follow up care for me to do at home, as well.
I have been a patient of Dr. Kim for over a decade. She has treated me for various medical issues including sciatica, plantar fasciitis, frozen shoulder, and shingles. She has also treated my daughter for a back injury. The treatment we have received has resulted in improved health overall.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
