Transcending Health is hands-down the most comprehensive and truly integrative therapy experience I’ve ever had. In reality, I don't know of anything comparable in town or in my travels.
I had been looking for negative energy cleansing when I stumbled upon this place. Their intro specials on Mindbody were too good to pass up! I got an hour long massage at the intro rate $75 (normally around $120-150) with Keanan. It was the best massage I've ever had. Intake was easy, he was very attentive.
I hadn’t had a massage in years, but thought it getting one would help my low back pain. I found a Groupon for a massage at Transcending Health. When I arrived and filled out paperwork, I was assigned to Keanan who spent time getting my history before giving me the massage.
Today I got deep tissue massage from Keanen. From the start at from desk to the massage room was a great experience. The bed was already heated which relaxed my body. Keanen put a very soft Sufi meditation music and told me to meditate while he was preparing hot stones.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
