A great experience. The entire staff is helpful and very professional. They have plenty of options to choose from like cupping, trigger point therapy, hot stones and red light therapy. There are no memberships or other gimmicks. Both Ellen and Victoria listened to my needs and explained all of the options really well.
I am very happy with my first experience at Therapeutic Massage and Bodyworks. I've been dealing with some neck and upper back pain for a while and was apprehensive try a new place. One day after my massage and I'm feeling better than I have in months!
I had my first therapeutic/deep tissue massage with Rebekah. I did something to my neck a few weeks ago and I was experiencing neck pain and pain in the back of my head. Rebekah was wonderful. She explained everything she was doing and what to expect the next day.
Kiersten was wonderful. Great pressure, listened to my needs and got every knot out that I asked her to work on! I also appreciate getting the full amount of time. So many shops cut your time short In the beginning and at the end and you’re so cheated but not here. It was a fair time to get ready and when it ended.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
