From the reviews

I see Laura Carter at The Skin Spa & Boutique for massage and craniosacral therapy. She also does cupping and continuously pursues more training to improve her already fantastic skills and expand her skill set. Her massages are so therapeutic and her craniosacral treatments have been life-changing for me.

I had a deep tissue massage with Laura and she was phenomenal! I work in healthcare and have been to many a massage therapist in my time, however Laura was very informative and educated me on topics I never had ever heard nor read about! I can now turn my neck to the left with noticeably less pain.

I can't rave enough about the Skin Spa and the women who work there. Holly gives the most amazing therapeutic massage. She knows exactly where you have tension and can release it for you with minimal pain. It's a good pain, I promise. She is a wealth of knowledge and will share it if you ask.

Clean, and professional. Ianna is great!!! She addressed my troubled spots without skimping on the rest. She also kept things symmetrical, left-to-right. Perfect amount of pressure, I feel great!! Thank you Ianna!!!

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
