Why The Qi Spot Health is listed — cupping is a treatment, not a Google category, so we only list a provider when there's real proof they offer it. Here's what we found: “ook now Dr. Wade McCulloch is one of the few people in the United States with a Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese medicine. He has extensive training in both Acupuncture and Dry needling, as well as Chinese herbs and cupping. Dr.…” source →

From the reviews

I'll admit it, I came into acupuncture with very little concrete expectations. I'd been experiencing low energy, and just wanted to see if I could find a new way to overcome my lack of motivation.

I severely sprained my ankle; I was on crutches and couldn't put any weight on it. My ankle was so swollen and bruised my foot had difficulties staying warm, after a week of my sprain not showing improvement I made my first appointment.

★★★★★ — Jamie, Sep 2018

I have been going to Qi Spot Acupuncture on and off for nearly 5 years. Wade is always super friendly, professional, and flexible when it comes to last minute appointments to address my issues.

★★★★★ — Leah, Apr 2017

I found Wade on a promotion several years ago. At that time he was working on his PhD in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. I have been to him again just recently and he has completed his PhD. Each visit was a different issue. He is very knowledgeable, professional, and personable.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
