From the reviews
As one of the Lead therapists here and being with The Now Midtown for the past 3 1/2 years, I would like to state that I truly do not believe that the review about the staff and turnover is for our Midtown location.
I have been going to The Now since 2022 (the Brier Creek location and this year the Midtown location) and I was super pleased to have one open in Raleigh. I have always had good experiences here, and I know for a fact the staff is treated well and paid fairly.
I’ve spent my life getting massages as my mom has worked across massage therapy, sports medicine, and physical therapy. I’m overall very selective about the practitioners I see repeatedly. All that considered, I immediately signed up for a membership after my first visit to this location and my session with Jacob.
I just had a massage with Sharraine and it was absolutely amazing. From the moment the session started, she created such a calm and comfortable environment that made it easy to fully relax.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
