What clients say about the cupping here
“She is personable, incredibly knowledgeable about anatomy, and provided unique exercises that progressed me towards feeling stronger in my body as a whole.”
From the reviews
I love The MVMT Institute!!! After a nagging running injury became too much to ignore, I asked to be referred to The MVMT Institute, because of the great results family had previously. Right away I was matched with Anna Lowry at the Floyds Knobs location.
I have been seeing Anna at MVMT institute since February for my neck and knees. She has been the BEST PT I have seen (out of 4-5 PTs for my knee across 25 years). She is personable, incredibly knowledgeable about anatomy, and provided unique exercises that progressed me towards feeling stronger in my body as a whole.
If you want a knowledgeable provider, individualized therapy, and meaningful results, this is the spot! Dr. Phoebe Watson was my PT. Her knowledge, expertise, and passion was evident each session. Beautiful facility as well. Couldn’t recommended the MVMT Institute enough!
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
