From the reviews
I had to write this review because Dr. Jesse Davenport at The Movement Shop is absolutely incredible. I hurt my back recently and was in so much pain I could barely walk. Honestly, it was scary. I’m usually pretty active and healthy, so being suddenly unable to move was terrifying.
This place and the people are amazing! Jesse Davenport the owner and physical therapist is the best PT I’ve ever had! It told me to do the exact opposite of what other doctors and therapists had told me to do for my back.
A dear friend and her husband both attend this Therapy center and they are very pleased , so about 2 month ago I decided to go , a dream come true , the owner and staff , exactly what I need bringing the best out in me , enriches my spirit .
Highly recommended! Amanda up front is pleasant and informative; she answered all my questions quickly (including the fact they take HSA cards, y'all - use that benefit!). Ashley J. gave a phenomenal massage, clearly a well-trained professional. The entire location is modern and clean.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
