Why The Mend PDX • Acupuncture and Holistic Medicine is listed — cupping is a treatment, not a Google category, so we only list a provider when there's real proof they offer it. Here's what we found: “rived from acupuncture and is typically performed by physical therapists. Trigger point is a more holistic approach with a similar response. We have found that it provides even more relief and is a much safer technique. Cupping and Gua sha…” source →

From the reviews

I followed Lily here from her last clinic, but the truth is, I would follow her to the moon! She’s best acupuncturist I’ve ever had. She is so knowledgeable, personable, genuine with a great sense of humor, and she tailors my treatments very specifically to my needs. She uses multiple modalities for the best results.

This was my first experience with acupuncture, and I have to say, Lili made it truly exceptional. She listens and tailors each session to whatever issue I’m dealing with at the time.

The Mend and all the staff are truly a dream! Melissa and Emily are my go to providers. Both have been incredible in helping me through physical concerns and high stress emotional seasons of life for the last few years.

★★★★★ — Emily, Feb 2026

A genuine place of healing. Lili is an incredible acupuncturist. She is full of knowledge, healing techniques, and thoughtful insight. I’ve gone in for muscle spasms that had me practically immobile and left pain-free. So grateful for Lili and The Mend! It’s a beautiful, calming space, highly recommend.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
