Why Tao of Medicine is listed — cupping is a treatment, not a Google category, so we only list a provider when there's real proof they offer it. Here's what we found: “lized to treat conditions by improving the body's self-healing power, rather than directly targeting manifested diseases. From the reviews

Dr. Hoon Kim is a lifesaver for active people like me! For nearly 10 years, he's kept me moving through sciatica, a torn meniscus, and countless other aches and pains. His acupuncture and cupping treatments are fantastic, and I always leave feeling refreshed and ready to tackle my next adventure.

Dr. Kim is a very knowledgeable and compassionate Acupuncturist. At the recommendation of a friend Dr. Kim helped me unfreeze my shoulder. Some thing that my chiropractor could not do over a three month period, Dr. Kim dead in two visits!!!! I have since visited Dr.

Dr. Kim is amazing! I highly recommend reaching out to him if you are considering acupuncture. I have had various injuries and experience chronic pain. After working with Dr. Kim the pain has gone away and my body is feeling much stronger. Totally life changing!

I began visiting Tao Medicine in December 2022. My partner and I were starting our journey to conceive and I was riddled with anxiety about the journey (mostly because I was in my mid to late 30's). This played into irregular cycles, which didn't support the cause or improve my outlook.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
