I have been seeing Robin at Sunshine Healing Arts since 2012. I initially came in for anxiety and depression and was able to get myself balanced and off pharmaceuticals shortly after starting acupuncture treatments.
I would highly recommend Robin Barlow with Sunshine Healing for acupuncture treatment. I first met Robin while seeking fertility help and hadn't received acupuncture treatment previously. She immediately made me feel comfortable and at ease during a very stressful time.
I hurt my shoulder about 8 months ago. I tried chiropractic and cryotherapy along with deep tissue massage. I would feel better for a couple days then the pain got worse. I looked into accupuncture and went to Sunshine Healing. Robin is a miracle- I am almost back to normal.
Robin has helped me through so many things over the past 2 years: fertility woes, stress, anxiety, migraines, motion sickness, sinus pressure, you name it - plus the many many many conversations that I treasure so much. She is a true blessing. Oh, and the acupuncture is pretty rad too.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
