From the reviews

We have been working with Jake and the girls at the Summit Hand Therapy office in Farr West for almost a year. Our daughter has a rare syndrome and will need therapy for life. We love this office they make us feel like family. Goals are met and we look forward to therapy with our OT team!

I was injured at work over 3 years ago. I originally went to hand therapy at a different clinic and didn’t notice any improvement. Following my wrist surgery, I started at Summit Hand Therapy. Although the therapy I needed was intensive, it made a world of a difference in my recovery.

★★★★★ — Emily, Apr 2021

Absolutely 5 stars. I was recommended to Jake @ Summit Hand Therapy in Farr West after a horrific car accident shredding my arm and hand. The first day I started therapy after surgery, I was extremely and visibly distraught. Jake and his staff caught on immediately and treated me like gold.

★★★★★ — Dano, May 2021

Summit Hand Therapy got me the use of my left arm and shoulder back and I am grateful. I had a left torn rotator cuff injury from a fall in September 2019 that I was being treated for elsewhere and I was not seeing improvement so I had stopped therapy.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
