From the reviews
I've been seeing Pilar for cupping and acupuncture to address muscle tightness and pain from playing soccer, and I can honestly say it's made a real difference. What stands out most is how kind and patient she is—she walks you through every step so you feel completely comfortable, even if you're new to acupuncture.
Pilar is knowledgeable and intuitive, she is also thorough and gentle. I went to see her for lower back pain, I tried seeing a chiropractor but i feel the adjustments were too rough and my body reacted negatively. Pilar was able to ease the pain, release the muscle tension and gently adjust me in a much gentler way!
Pilar is the best! Whether it’s acupuncture, cupping, or just her amazing customer service, she excels at it all. She creates personalized plans that work miracles and stays involved in your recovery every step of the way. If you’re nervous about needles, don’t be—her hand is so steady you’ll barely feel a thing.
I've struggled with digestion issues and weekly heartburn for a long time, so I decided to try acupuncture with Pilar. I'm so glad I did. She's been able to significantly reduce my discomfort in a way that's actually made a real difference in my daily life.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
