I came to Step by Step with soreness and pain in my left shoulder. This was a bit more than ordinary pain too and it got to a point where I needed to do something more than a typical relaxation massage.
I have been a client of Rena’s for nearly twenty years. She cares deeply about her clients and their well being. Whether it is a painful knee, stiff neck or aching shoulders she has the knowledge and skill to get me back to normal. Rena makes suggestions based off of what she finds in order to help me even further.
I found Rena several years ago and she's an absolutely wonderful and a great message therapist. She has helped me with pain management when i needed it the most.
If you are in pain you need to see Rena at Step by Step. I am 54 and was injured as a child. I have struggled with neck, back and hip pain most of my life. I have seen many many therapists during the years and no one comes close to Rena’s talent. I am seeing results with her that took years with other therapists.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
