Why St. John Acupuncture is listed — cupping is a treatment, not a Google category, so we only list a provider when there's real proof they offer it. Here's what we found: “ile Marston inserts acupuncture needles in specific points on your body and allows you to close your eyes and take a rest. Depending upon your chief complaint, you may receive electric stimulation at the needles points, cupping or guasha…” source →

Excellent experience, ( my first visit)with very helpful results. Relieved my lower back pain tremendously, that evening! Highly recommend, even if you just need to relax....

I've been seeing Marston for almost 10 years and am very happy with the service and experience! I started seeing her for bursitis in my hip after a doctor suggested exploratory surgery. It was extremely helpful in relieving the pain and I found that it was incredibly relaxing and helpful for stress as well!

My husband and I have seen Marston on and off for various ailments over the last 7 years. She is a wealth of knowledge and an amazing practitioner/healer. I was not a believer in acupuncture until I saw her and felt amazing relief after sessions.

★★★★★ — Erika, Apr 2023

Marston has done so much for our family. We see her for anything from joint pain to our kid's colds. I have recommended her to friends and family and would do so for anyone looking for a knowledgeable and professional acupuncturist.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
