From the reviews
I am so glad I found Ali and Spreading Roots Acupuncture! For the last 4+years I have been experiencing painful symptoms similar to endometriosis. The only option offered by multiple Western Medicine (MD) practitioners was hormonal birth control.
Alli is an immensely talented practitioner! I have trusted and relied on her with a variety of health and wellness concerns since moving to Westchester. She really takes the time to listen and understand your full health picture and has taught me so much.
After a friend recommended I try acupuncture, I did extensive research on what to expect from acupuncture and who was available locally that would be both affordable and knowledgeable about my health. Dr.
I've had a really fantastic experience with Spreading Roots Acupuncture. For most of my life I've had digestive issues, and the anxiety from the pandemic had made them much worse. I've done acupuncture before but decided to give it another try.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
