Highly recommend! :) I’ve been to several massage places over the years, and I’m usually easy to please, so I almost always leave happy. But this year my husband gifted me a Spavia monthly membership, and omg… it has been a total game changer.
Marlene was incredible. Her impressive technique and knowledge were complemented by her respect for my request to not talk unless I initiated it. She performed both services, including the salt stone massage and the anti-aging body wrap, which was heavenly. The hot oil scalp massage was a new experience for me.
Just discovered Spavia and Alamo Ranch and loved it. I am very picky about my spas and was surprised to find such a wonderful Neighborhood place I can go to for massages and treatments. Marlene did my detox body treatment and I strongly recommend. She explained what was going to happen.
The whole experience from checking in to checking out was a very good and simple experience. The massage that I received from Simeona ranked as one of the best massages that I have ever received. She listened to what I had to say about problem areas and took extra time on those areas.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
