I had a wonderful experience at Spa of Awakening. From the moment I walked in, the space felt calm and welcoming. I booked a 90-minute massage and body scrub, and both services were excellent. Oh and their online scheduling system allowed me to easily make an appointment the same day!

My massage at Spa of Awakening was outstanding!! I walked out of this place feeling like a new person! Luis was my massage therapist and he helped me get my lower back and hip pain to disappear! Luis also managed to loosen my shoulders and neck muscles, which is usually impossible.
Where do I start? This place goes above and beyond! My girlfriend and I have been twice to Spa of Awakening because our first visit was amazing. We will definitely be back a few more times before heading back up to Boston. Prior to our massages, we enjoyed a glass of champagne (nice touch).
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
