Beautiful new facility but that is only the beginning! Many different services offered. Easy to book an appointment over the phone and then fill out all necessary forms online before the appointment. Massage was excellent!
Spa Catawba is an excellent business. All staff are so friendly and welcoming. The facility is set up so well. Locker rooms are very clean. The 'waiting room' is a place to relax before your service, in this case, a massage. And it can be used after the massage to enjoy the glow of the experience.
My wife and I were camping in the area in October and booked massages. The massages were great and my wife kept talking about how comfortable their robes were. I try to find a way to get her one for Christmas, but no luck. Fast forward to this week when I was in town for a school event.
Me and my fiancé live all the way in Cleveland but came down to Lake Eerie to stay the Wave hotel. It was a package deal to get a massage at Spa Catawba. It was very peaceful and my masseur was very friendly. She had a gentle but firm touch.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
