Why Somatic Nature Physical Therapy and Wellness is listed — cupping is a treatment, not a Google category, so we only list a provider when there's real proof they offer it. Here's what we found: “anual treatments: soft tissue mobilization, myofascial release, trigger point release, strain/counter-strain, joint mobilizations, IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization), MFD (Myofacial Decompression, AKA "cupping"), neural…” source →

From the reviews
Working with Priscilla was wonderful! She not only helped me alleviate pain in my knee from running, but helped me understand how my whole body contributed to this and how to fix it. I loved her mix of traditional PT exercises with other methods like cupping and Chinese medicine approaches.
Dr. Priscilla Park is a godsend! Not only did she heal me, but she gave me the knowledge and tools to take back control of my mind, body, and pain. I am forever grateful for the positive impact she has had on my life.
I've been an athlete my entire life and have suffer through many injuries to my shoulder neck spine and hips and ankles. It's safe to say I've seen over a dozen physical therapist in the Bay and Sacramento area. Priscilla is by far the most effective, caring, empathetic physical therapist I have ever worked with.
I came to Dr. Priscilla after dealing with chronic back pain for a year. I had reached a point where I was scared to too advanced of a yoga practice (I've been practicing for 25 years) for fear of exacerbating my back pain.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
