Why Somata Massage is listed — cupping is a treatment, not a Google category, so we only list a provider when there's real proof they offer it. Here's what we found: “, allowing me to move the cups comfortably over various regions of the body. Because the cups are not left in an area for an extended period, Medicupping® does not result in the bruising commonly associated with TCM cupping. Combined…” source →

From the reviews
Kitty uses her deep knowledge in multiple modalities and body systems. While she is very skilled with sensing what’s going on inside the body using her hands, she also uses other tools for therapeutic effect such as suction cups.
Kitty is incredibly skilled and every massage helps me feel that much better. She is utilizing a combination myofascial release and craniosacral (sp???) to help me post spinal fusion surgery and the resulting tightness and spasms. I cannot recommend Kitty highly enough!
Pulled hip flexer, was in so much pain, couldn't stand, or walk but a few steps without excruciating pain, still no change after a week, and knew I was going to need major therapeutic massage.
A massage with Kitty Smith is truly an amazing experience. She is absolutely determined to make sure you get all that you need and more from your appointment with her. Kitty's knowledge and healing intuition allow her to be the most effective massage therapist I have ever visited.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
