Verified cupping provider Massage cupping

Why Shoreline Massage Sanctuary is listed — cupping is a treatment, not a Google category, so we only list a provider when there's real proof they offer it. Here's what we found: “plying pressure, cupping instead uses negative pressure to pull, lift, open and expand the body’s soft tissues. ***This is a cupping only service. Very little “hands-on” techniques are used. If you’d like a massage with cupping added to…” source →

From the reviews

I am just wrapping up a week-long vacation in Old Saybrook, and my wife booked me two massage sessions with George Charlton. He was fantastic. Even though we only had a couple of sessions together, he took the time to ask me about my history of pain, areas of discomfort, reasons for pursuing massage, etc.

Massage appointments with George are enjoyable and conducted professionally from beginning to end. They are like visiting an old friend, catching up on each other’s lives and sharing experiences.

I had an marvelous massage a few days ago. George was very friendly and made sure I received the best treatment. I have had ongoing issues with my neck and back area that feel so much better after my visit. George has excellent and practical techniques to ensure satisfactory results.

I have had many massages and many types but I don't need one of those relaxation massages.. I need a massage for medical reasons. After getting run over by a car my body needs a massage to function and I highly recommend Shoreline if you need a massage other than for relaxation.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
