From the reviews
I can’t recommend Denise enough. I’ve tried several massage therapists over the years, and she is by far the best, not only does she provide an amazing experience, but she actually works to fix the problem. Denise is incredibly knowledgeable about how the body works and truly understands muscle structure and function.
I can’t recommend Denise enough! She is absolutely amazing at what she does. Every massage I’ve had with her has been incredibly relaxing, therapeutic, and exactly what my body needed.
Denise was very welcoming and warm. My massage experience from beginning to end was fenomenal. She approaches every area of discomfort with gentleness yet firm to break all the knots through out my body.
I recently had a one-hour massage at Serenity Massage by Denise, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. Denise is professional, friendly, and incredibly attentive to your individual needs.
Booking hijama (wet cupping) at Serenity Massage by Denise
Serenity Massage by Denise comes up as a provider that offers hijama — wet cupping, where the skin is lightly punctured after suction so a small amount of blood is drawn. If you're booking hijama specifically, a few things are worth asking before you go. First, sterility is everything — a reputable practitioner uses a fresh, single-use kit (new blades and cups) for every client and follows clean, gloved technique. It's completely fair to ask how they handle this. Second, many people booking hijama want a same-gender practitioner — a female practitioner is available here. Third, ask about aftercare and whether they observe particular days if that matters to you.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
